Box Score The Chicago State volleyball team topped crosstown rival UIC 3-1 Monday night at the Jones Convocation Center in Chicago in the Cougars home debut. The Flames entered the contest with a 7-1 record and winners of three in row while CSU improves to 4-5 and now have won two in a row.
Zahari Quaraishi led the Cougars with 12 kills while
Karly Klaer and
Berenice Almeyda each had 9.
Wiktoria Zagumny led all players with 36 assists and
Andrea Calderon had 13 digs.
Patrycja Lagida contributed 11 digs and six kills.
The Cougars will be back on the court this weekend, competing in the Capital Credit Union Classic hosted by Green Bay. CSU will open play against the University of North Dakota on Thursday, September 19 at 4 p.m. at the Kress Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Fighting Hawks enter the week with a 5-3 record and are 1-1 in neutral site matches.
