Box Score The Chicago State volleyball team lost to Cincinnati 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-13) Saturday afternoon in the second day of the Best Western Invitational host by Bowling Green at the Stroh Center in Bowling Green, Ohio. The Cougars trailed in the first set but battled back to trail by just one, 18-17, before the Bearcats would score seven of the last nine points for the first set win. UC jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the second set before CSU cut the gap to 16-11 before falling by nine. The Bearcats jumped out to a comfortable 10-3 advantage in the third and rode that momentum to a third-set win.
Patrycja Lagida led the Cougars in kills with eight while
Wiktoria Zagumny led CSU in assists with 18 and
Andrea Calderon led in digs with six.
The Cougars will be back on the court September 6-7 at the Dunn Hospitality Tournament hosted by Evansville at the Meeks Family Fieldhouse in Evansville, Indiana. Chicago State will face Samford and host Evansville on Friday and wrap up play against Miami (OH) on Saturday.
