Box Score The Chicago State women's soccer team opened the 2024 season with a 2-0 loss to UIC Thursday night at Flames Field in Chicago. The Cougars managed early pressure but couldn't find the back of the net and the Flames capitalized on two scoring chances in the first 45 minutes to take a 2-0 lead at the half. The two teams played to a scoreless draw in the second half and UIC earned the 2-0 win.
Goalkeeper Jay Arballo made five saves in her season debut and Maya Dixon, Delaney Kenney an Trinity Babcock each registered shots in the loss.
The Cougars will be back in action Sunday, welcoming Valparaiso to Gwendolyn Brooks College Prep with a 1 p.m. start. The match is the home opener for CSU and the season opener for the Beacons.
