Box Score Playing in their second road match of the day, the Chicago State women's tennis team lost to Notre Dame 5-0 at the Eck Tennis Center in South Bend, Indiana. The Fighting Irish earned two wins in doubles to claim the team point, leaving the No. 1 singles team of
Manuella Eloundou and
Nia Cooper on the court trailing, 4-2. In singles, UND earned four wins in a row with
Sofiya Sedovich (No. 2) and Cooper (No. 6) each trailing in the second set when Notre Dame clinched the win.
"A tough match against a really good team," head coach
Jack Barton said. "I don't think we were on the same page in singles. Some took chances and other played too safe. We had nothing to lose and I was hoping for a little more. But, it's always a good learning experience when you play against a Power 5 team. We will learn and get ready for Wednesday."
