Box Score The Chicago State women's tennis team played a pair of matches Wednesday afternoon at the H-F Racquet and Fitness Club in Homewood and came away with two 7-0 victories, all straight set wins with the exception of one match.
"Today was a really good day to be a Cougar," head coach
Jack Barton said. "Eastern gave us some problems in doubles with their two-back style of play and consistency but we figured it out by hitting the ball more in the middle and letting the net players take control. Singles was great. They played excellent and really played with purpose. It's good to get back on the win side.
"They really took care of business in the second match today. I'm especially proud of Danina (Hughes) and her win today. She took advantage of her moment and came up with a big win to help us get two 7-0 victories today. She works really hard in practice and is really meticulous in perfecting her craft. The team really got behind her to help her get to the finish line."

The Cougars will be back on the court Saturday, March 2, hosting UC Irvine at 10 a.m. at the H-F Racquet and Fitness Club and will host Georgia Southern on Sunday, March 3 at 10 a.m. at the same venue.
