The Chicago State track & field teams opened the 2024-25 indoor season, hosting the Cougars Alumni Open on Friday, December 6 at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center at Gately Park. The meet was the first the Cougars had hosted since Dec. 2, 2022 at that same venue.
As part of the alumni festivities, the track and field program recognized the 2019 men's 4x100 team which advanced to NCAA's. The team of Matthew Brown,
Olesson Cesalien,
Ricordo McKenzie and
Carlton Sims were coached by Craig Collins and Ashley Homere. The group earned 2019 Honorable Mention All-America honors and were WAC Champions. Their feat marked the first time the Chicago State's men's track & field program was represented at the national meet. Only Brown was unable to attend the recognition.Â
