Box Score The Chicago State men's basketball team completed non-conference play Sunday with a 117-64 loss to Illinois at the State Farm Center in Champaign. The Cougars trailed by one, 8-7, when Illinois went on a 29-3 run to go up 41-13 leaving CSU to play catch up the rest of the way..
Gabe Spinelli was one of two players in double figures for the Cougars with 20 points. He hit 7-of-12 shots including 4-of-5 from beyond the three-point arc and led the CSU with three assists. Neble Crawford was the other Cougars player in double figures with 15.
Next up, the Cougars will open Northeast Conference play on road at Wagner on Friday, January 3 at 6 p.m. at Spiro Sport Center in Staten Island, NY.
