Aiyanna Culver Scores Career-High 20 Points in Chicago State Women’s Basketball Loss at Tulsa

Box Score Freshman Aiyanna Culver scored a career-high 20 points in Chicago State's 76-46 loss at Tulsa Wednesday night in women's basketball. The freshman out of Queens, New York notched her fifth double-digit scoring game of her young collegiate career connecting on three of CSU's five three-point attempts. She also led the team with six rebounds. 

Tulsa jumped out to a quick 8-0 and 11-3 lead and trailed by as many as 10 before the Cougars rallied to cut the deficit to five by the end of the first quarter. Chicago State opened the second quarter with a 4-2 run to close within three, 22-29, at the 8:26 mark before Tulsa steadily pulled away to lead by 13 at the half, 42-29. Both teams struggled to score in the third with each squad scoring nine points and the lead remained 13. Chicago State cut the lead to nine with eight minutes remaining in regulation but Tulsa outscored CSU 23-2 the remainder of the game for the win. 

The Cougars next game will be at home against Bradley on Tuesday, December 3 at 11 a.m. at the Jones Convocation Center in Chicago.
