Drexel Gets Past Chicago State Men’s Basketball in Third Place Game of Sunshine Slam

Box Score The Chicago State men's basketball team dropped the third place game of the Ocean Bracket of the Sunshine Slam to Drexel 83-71 Tuesday morning at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Dragons used a 9-0 run midway through the first half to break open a tight game and let by as many as 10 before Jalen Forrest hit a three and the Cougars trailed by seven at the half, 35-28.

Chicago State cut the deficit to five, 47-42, at the 12:26 mark, but another 9-0 Drexel run left the Cougars trailing by double digits for most of the second half.

Three Cougars scored in double figures led by Troy McKoy, Jr., with 19 followed by Jalen Forrest with 14 and Matthew Robinson with 10.

The next action for the Cougars will be a trip to Madison, Wisconsin to face the University of Wisconsin on Saturday, November 30, at noon at the Kohl Center.
