Gabe Spinelli matched a season high with 15 points in an 86-66 loss to Eastern Kentucky Tuesday night at the JCC in Chicago. The Colonels used an early 11-2 run in the first half to pull away from an even start and would never trail again in the 20-point victory.
The Cougars cut a 19-point lead to 11 in the opening moments of the second half but a 20-2 EKU run put the visitors up by 29 with 14:40 remaining to play. Matthew Robinson was the only others Cougars player to score in double figures with 11 while Spinelli also led Chicago State with five rebounds.
Next up for the Cougars will be a trip to Terre Haute, Indiana on Friday, November 22 to face Indiana State at the Hulman Center at 6 p.m.
