Box Score The Chicago State men's soccer team trailed by just one after the first 45 minutes of play but Mercyhurst added an early second-half goal and pulled away for a 4-0 win Sunday afternoon at Saxon Stadium in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Mercyhurst held a lopsided advantage with 17 shots opposed to Chicago State's one and the shots on goal were 7-0. Cougars goal keeper
Lucas Fontana was credited with three saves and
Hilary Odhiambo had CSU's shot.
With the loss, Chicago State falls to 0-2-1 in the Northeast Conference and 1-8-1 overall. Mercyhurst improves to 2-0 in conference play and 5-5 overall.
Chicago State will return to action Sunday, October 13, traveling to New Britain, Connecticut to face Central Connecticut State at the CCSU Soccer Field at 12 p.m. CT.
