Cougars Men’s Soccer Loses at Mercyhurst

Box Score The Chicago State men's soccer team trailed by just one after the first 45 minutes of play but Mercyhurst added an early second-half goal and pulled away for a 4-0 win Sunday afternoon at Saxon Stadium in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Mercyhurst held a lopsided advantage with 17 shots opposed to Chicago State's one and the shots on goal were 7-0. Cougars goal keeper Lucas Fontana was credited with three saves and Hilary Odhiambo had CSU's shot.

With the loss, Chicago State falls to 0-2-1 in the Northeast Conference and 1-8-1 overall. Mercyhurst improves to 2-0 in conference play and 5-5 overall.

Chicago State will return to action Sunday, October 13, traveling to New Britain, Connecticut to face Central Connecticut State at the CCSU Soccer Field at 12 p.m. CT.
