Box Score Playing to a 1-0 deficit from the 14th minute, the Chicago State men's soccer team had several scoring chances turned away before Le Moyne found the back of the net three times after the 73rd minute to claim a 4-0 NEC victory over the Cougars Thursday night at Gwendolyn Brooks College Prep in Chicago.
Le Moyne and Chicago State were deadlocked in shots in the first and second halves, each with three in the first and four in the second while the Dolphins held a slight 5-4 advantage in shots on goal.
Danail Sergiev accounted for three shots and also led the Cougars with shots on goal with three.
Aidan Lopez had the other shot on goal for CSU.
With the loss, the Cougars fall to 0-1-1 in the NEC and 1-7-1 overall while Le Moyne improves to 1-0-1 in conference play and 4-1-4 overall.
The Cougars will be back in action Sunday, October 6, traveling to Erie, Pennsylvania to face Mercyhurst at Saxon Stadium at 12 p.m. CT.
