Box Score The Chicago State volleyball team earned their second sweep over Le Moyne (25-15, 25-22, 25-17) in as many days Saturday afternoon at the Jacoby Dickens Center in Chicago.
Le Moyne jumped out to an early 4-2 lead in game one before the Cougars scored 12 of the next 14 points to go up 14-6. The teams exchanged points with CSU claiming six of the last eight points for a 25-15 win. Le Moyne led or tied for much of game two and the teams were tied 19-19 and 21-21 before Chicago State scored four of the final five points for a 25-22 win. The Dolphins led 10-9 and were tied 11-11 when the Cougars reeled off five consecutive points followed by a Le Moyne run of three leaving CSU leading 16-14. The Cougars ran off eight of the next nine to force match point and
Patrycja Lagida ended the match with a kill.
Julieta Sandez led all players with 10 kills followed by
Karly Klaer with nine and
Patrycja Lagida with six.
Andrea Calderon led all players with 12 digs and
Wiktoria Zagumny led in assists with 27.
With the win, the Cougars improve to 10-8 overall and 6-0 in the Northeast Conference with five of those six wins coming by sweeps while Le Moyne falls to 2-16 Â overall and 1-5 in league play.Â
The Cougars will be back at home for their third consecutive two-match home series, hosting Stonehill (6-12 overall, 2-4 NEC) on October 25-26 at the Jacoby Dickens Center in Chicago. The two teams will play at 6 p.m. CT Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.
