Box Score The Chicago State volleyball team swept Le Moyne (25-14, 25-19, 26-24) Friday night at the Jacoby Dickens Center in Chicago.
The Cougars trailed early on three occasions in game one but reeled off eight of nine points to turn a 5-4 deficit into a 12-6 lead then cruised to a 25-14 win. Chicago State never trailed in a 25-19 game two win although the Dolphins cut a 17-8 lead to 20-18 before losing by six, 25-19. Le Moyne led 23-21 in the third game before CSU rallied to take a 24-23 lead. The Dolphins tied it a 24-14 before a service error and
Zahara Quraishi closed out the sweep and match for the Cougars.
Karly Klaer led all players with 12 kills followed by three Cougars teammates,
Patrycja Lagida with 11,
Wiktoria Zagumny with eight and
Julieta Sandez with seven.
Andrea Calderon led all players with 15 digs while Zagumny added 11. Zagumny also led in assists with 29 and Sandez led all players with six blocks.
With the win, the Cougars improve to 9-8 overall and 5-0 in the Northeast Conference while Le Moyne falls to 2-15 Â overall and 1-4 in league play.Â
The same two teams will be back at tomorrow at the Jacoby Dickens Center in Chicago at 1 p.m. CT.
