Chicago State Volleyball Earns 3-1 Win Over LIU, Move to 3-0 in the NEC

Box Score The Chicago State volleyball team earned their third consecutive conference victory with a 3-1 win over LIU Friday night at the Jacoby Dickens Center in Chicago.

The Cougars earned victories in games 1, 3 and 4, taking control of a tight game one, scoring five of the final seven points for a 25-22 victory. In game two, Chicago State held a 24-20 advantage before the Sharks fought off three set points before knotting the score 24-24. The teams then exchanged points before LIU pulled out the two-point win, 27-25. The Cougars scored eight points in a row and 10 of 11 in a dominating game three 25-16 win. CSU then closed the match with a 25-11 game four win. 

Patrycja Lagida led all players with 18 kills while Karly Klaer added 10. Klaer and Wiktoria Zagumny tied for the game high in digs with 17 and Zagumny led all players with 39 assists.

With the win, Chicago State improves to 3-0 in the Northeast Conference while LIU falls to 1-3. The same two teams will play again Saturday, October 12, at 1 p.m. back at the JDC.
