Box Score The Chicago State women's tennis team lost to Cincinnati at the Western Athletic Club in Cincinnati, Ohio Saturday afternoon. The Cougars dropped the doubles point with losses at No. 1 and 2 doubles, leaving the match at No. 3 unfinished with
Helin Alvarez and
Nia Cooper leading 4-3. In singles, CSU lost at No. 3, 1 and 4 UC earned the 4-0 win with matches at No. 2, 5 and 6 unfinished at the time of the match-clinching victory.
"I thought the women played well," head coach
Jack Barton said. "There are a lot of things to clean up in doubles. Singles was really competitive. Nia (Cooper), Amina (Taibi) and Sofiya (Sedovich) stayed in their matches whereas Ethel (Li) and Katarina (Dukic) dug hard in their second sets to keep the matches as close as possible. A lot of good things we are going to take to the matches tomorrow and we will need to be a little more disciplined in the areas we need to improve upon."

The Cougars will be back on the court Sunday, January 21 with a pair of road, facing Miami at 10 a.m. in Hamilton, Ohio then at Indiana at 5 p.m. in Bloomington, Indiana.
