The Chicago State women's soccer team earned their third win of the season with a 3-2 thriller Sunday morning at Alabama A&M in Huntsville.
Michaela Williamson,
Samantha Jablonski and
Chiara Canini each scored goals for the Cougars with the game winner coming off the foot of Canini in the 57th minute.
Just five minutes into the first half, the Cougars found the back of the net with a finish from Williamson to jump out to a 1-0 lead.
Alabama then proceeded to attack relentlessly which resulted in a game-tying goal in the 34th minute, and the score was knotted 1-1.
CSU countered and regained the lead as Jablonski fired in other for the Cougars in the 39th minute mark to regain the lead, 2-1, and held it to the break.
In the second half, Alabama A&M scored the equalizer at the 10-minute mark to tie it up at 2-2.
Much like in the first half, the Cougars bounced right back, this time with a goal from Canini just a minute after Alabama A&M's and regained the lead, 3-2.
Alabama A&M produced several offensive threats but were unable to convert as the Cougars locked down the victory to earn their third win of the season.
The Cougars next take on Middle Tennessee on September 29th at 7 p.m. in Murfreesboro, TN.
