Box Score The Chicago State women's soccer team faced off against the Western Illinois University Leathernecks for the second match of the 2023 season and suffered a 1-0 loss.
Throughout the first half, neither team was able to find the back of the net as defenses prevailed to maintain a 0-0 score at the half. It wasn't until the second half of the match that the Leathernecks were able to break through and earn the first goal of the match at the 70th minute mark to go up 1-0.
The Cougars maintained offensive pressure throughout the rest of the match but were ultimately unable to get a goal, which earned Western Illinois a 1-0 win.
Chicago State next takes on Lindenwood University on Thursday at 7 P.M. in St. Charles, MO.
