Olivia Kofie Named Assistant Volleyball Coach

Chicago State head women's volleyball coach Tony Trifonov announced today that Olivia Kofie has been named an assistant coach on his 2023 staff.

"I'm really excited about adding Olivia," Trifonov said. "She's very energetic and positive, a problem solver. She has great credentials on the court and brings a lot of credibility to the women on our team. She played professionally in Europe so that experience will help her relate and connect to our international players. She made an immediate impact on our roster upon her arrival so it will be fun to watch her continue to grow as a coach throughout the season."

Kofie comes to Chicago State after serving in similar roles at North Central College, Judson University and Sky High Volleyball Club in Crystal Lake. She graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor of science in university studies, concentrating in health and family studies and was a member of the women's volleyball team where she was a four-year starter for the Broncos. 

Kofie played volleyball professionally overseas for Engelholm Volleyball in Sweden, VK UP Olomouc Volleyball Club and Sternberk Volleyball Club in the Czech Republic and Blue Soft Mazovia Warsawa Volleyball in Poland.
