Box Score The Chicago State men's tennis team lost their second consecutive match to Youngstown State, this time dropping a 5-2 decision to the Penguins Friday afternoon at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center in Youngstown, Ohio. The Cougars and Penguins played just five days ago in CSU's last match, with Youngstown State earning a 4-3 win in Homewood, Illinois. Unlike that match, Youngstown State swept the doubles point and won the first four consecutive singles matches to clinch the team victory before
Hugo Hidalgo Vega and
Pedro Alvarez earned singles wins for the Cougars and a 5-2 final score.
"A big difference from last week's results," head coach
Jack Barton said referring to Chicago State's 4-3 home loss to Youngstown State at home April 2. "The courts here are a lot slower and there's more room to cover a lot of balls. It's a lot different than playing at HF. This was a true definition of home court advantage. We didn't adjust well to the conditions of the court and that's something that elite teams do if they want to be considered great, especially winning on the road. We played doubles really well today and we came close to taking the point but YSU played the important points very well. Pedro (Alvarez) and Hugo (Hidalgo Vega) once again showed why they are two of the top players in the conference. We'll get back at it tomorrow ."

The Cougars will be back on the court and continue Horizon League play tomorrow, Saturday, April 8 at 1 p.m. at Cleveland State.
