Box Score The Chicago State men's tennis team lost to Toledo 5-2 Friday night at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club in Toledo, Ohio. Toledo earned two wins in doubles and clinched the match with three consecutive wins in singles but both
Hugo Hidalgo Vega and
Rodrigo Alves earned singles wins at No. 2 and No. 4, respectively.
"We should have lasted longer on the courts where we lost," head coach
Jack Barton said. "I can't overstate how errors and double faults hurt us today. My hope is that they learn from that and we can make a change tomorrow. Hugo (Hidalgo Vega) and Rodrigo (Alves) played solid so we need an effort like that throughout the line up tomorrow."
The Cougars will remain in Toledo and play a neutral-site match against Duquesne on Saturday, February 18 at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club. Duquesne enters the match with a 2-4 record, dropping a 7-0 decision to Toledo earlier in the day.
