Three Cougars Score in Double Figures in Loss Against APS

Evangelina Parrish drops 12 points while Taylor Norris and Jacia Cunningham put up 10 each in women's basketball loss against Austin Peay Governors University in the third and final game of the Cleveland State Invitational at Woodling Gymnasium in Cleveland.

First Quarter - APS 14, Chicago State 9
? The Governors jumped out to an early 4-0 lead
? The Cougars bounced back with a 4-2 run with deuces from Evangelina Parrish and ZiKeyah Carter to trail by twi, 6-4
? APS finished the quarter with an 8-5 run to 14-9 at the end of the first quarter

Second Quarter - APS 33, Chicago State 17
? APS once again kicked off the scoring with a deuce and the Cougars answered with a jumper from Cunningham, resulting in a 16-11 score
? The Governors continued their momentum leading to a 9-0 run which earned them a 14-point lead at 25-11
? APS outscored the Cougars 8-6 the rest of the way with CSU buckets from from Princess Hester, Josie Hill, Claire Simmons and Cunningham to trail 33-17 at the half

Third Quarter - APS 40, Chicago State 35
? Chicago State came out hot and produced a 5-0 run with a trey from Ana Haklicka and a jumper from Parrish to trail by 10 at 33-22
? The Governors then produced three points off of free throws which increased their lead to 13, 36-22
? The Cougars were able to seal the quarter with a 13-4 run featuring buckets from Taylor Norris, Tae'Lor Willard, Cunningham and Parrish to now only trail by five heading into the final quarter, 40-35

Fourth Quarter - 
? Chicago State continued on their run as they opened up the scoring with another jumper from Parrish resulting in a 40-37 score
? APS quickly bounced back with an 8-2 run which once again increased their lead and ultimately sealed the win as the Cougars fell short with a 60-49 score

The Cougars will return home and be back in acrtion against the Evansville Purple Aces on Sunday, November 26th at 1 p.m. in the Jones Convocation Center.
