Chicago State Women’s Tennis Compete at Bronco Super Challenge

The Chicago State women's tennis team complete their fall season at the Bronco Super Challenge hosted by Western Michigan at the Sorensen Courts/West Hills Athletic Club in Kalamazoo, Michigan over the past two days with competition wrapping up Saturday afternoon.

The Cougars came away with victories in nine of 12 doubles matches with the duos of Katarina Dukic and Manuella Eloundou and Ethel Li and Sofiya Sedovich earning three wins in as many matches. In singles, CSU finished 12-12 during the two days but finished strong, winning off their last eight pairings with freshmen Helin Alvarez and Nia Cooper each going 3-0 in their three matches.

"This was a great way to end the fall season for the ladies," head coach Jack Barton said. "We really play well against some tough competition this weekend. I feel we could have been further along with individual development but that's not the ladies fault so we will get that fixed.

"All in all they showed a lot of progress from August through November. Our sports medicine and sports performance teams kept the ladies healthy and active so I'm very appreciative of their efforts. Most of all, they all took ownership of their play and were 100% coachable throughout the season."
