The Chicago State men's basketball team is scheduled to travel to Nacogdoches, Texas to face Stephen F. Austin on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the William R. Johnson Coliseum. The Lumberjacks will be playing back-to-back games against Chicago State, earning an 81-61 victory last Thursday in the first-ever meeting between the two schools while CSU played Sam Houston over the weekend. The Lumberjacks are 8-4 in league play and 16-8 overall while the Cougars are 6-19 overall and 2-10 in the WAC.
Chicago State is 2-9 in conference games this season which is already more wins than the Cougars posted in league play since 2014-15 when CSU finished 4-10. The year prior, 2013-14, the first year the Cougars competed in the Western Athletic Conference, Chicago State went 8-8 in league play and 13-19 overall.

Dominique Alexander did not play and entered the game ranked tied for fourth in the WAC in free throw percentage (85.7). He moved up one spot and is now alone in third, behind Le'Tre Darthard (Utah Valley, 88.5) and Xavier Johnson (UTRGV, 87.5).
Brandon Betson was one of three players in double figures with 12 points. He has led the team in scoring eight times this season, has eclipsed the 20-point mark four times and has scored in double figures 20 times this season. He has converted at least one three-point field goal in 22 of 25 games this season and has converted more than one in a game on 18 occasions. He leads the team in three-point percentage (60-157, .386) which currently ranks sixth on CSU's single-season leaders list in that category.
Jahsean Corbett had team-highs in points (13), rebounds (9) and assists (tie-2). He has scored in double figures 16 times this season has the highest single-game point output this season for the Cougars (26 points at New Mexico State).
Kedrick Green started his sixth game of the season and first since Dec. 1 (at Loyola Maryland). He was one of three players in double figures, his third double-digit scoring effort of the season. He played a season-high 29 minutes and attempted a season-high seven three pointers. He also tied season highs in free throws made (4), attempted (5) and steals (2).
Bryce Johnson came off the bench and scored nine points, establishing season highs in free throws attempted (7) and made (4) and tied a season high in three-point field goal attempts (10). He has the third-most threes on the team this season (26), despite missing nine games.
Jincho Rivera tied season highs in points (6), free throws made (2) and attempted (2).

Chicago State's season-opening win over St. Thomas was head coach Gerald Gillion's first as a collegiate head coach ... That win also snapped a 28-game Cougars losing streak, dating back to December 2019, an 89-81 win over SIUE in Edwardsville, Illinois ... The game against St. Thomas was the Cougars first action in nearly a year, last playing Dec. 20, 2020, in what turned out to be a nine-game, COVID-shortened 2020-21 season ... The Cougars win over SIUE (67-56) marked the Cougars first two-game win streak over Division I opponents since the 2014-15 season (Feb. 26 vs. GCU, W, 74-70; Feb. 28 vs. Utah Valley, 65-44) ... Chicago State won three straight home games for the first time since 2018-19 after winning the first three home games of the 2021-22 season ... The road win over IUPUI win was the Cougars first on the road this season and first road win since Dec. 4, 2019 at SIUE (89-81), a span of 24 games away from the Jones Convocation Center (includes two neutral site games) ... the Cougars earned their first Western Athletic Conference victory since March 2018 (vs. UMKC, W 96-82) when the Cougars beat California Baptist 58-56 at home on Jan. 8 ... Chicago State's 67-56 win at Lamar was the Cougars first conference road victory since Jan. 12, 2017 when CSU beat Utah Valley in Orem, 70-61.

The Cougars are scheduled to host Tarleton on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 2 p.m. at the Jones Convocation Center in Chicago. The two teams played in Huntsville Feb. 5 with the Cougars dropping a 57-54 decision, erasing a pair of 11-point leads and taking a lead in the final minutes before losing by three. Tarleton is 11-14 overall and 6-6 in the WAC.
