Box Score The Chicago State men's tennis team picked up a 4-2 win over IUPUI Sunday morning, playing a neutral site match at the Schwartz Tennis Center in West Lafayette, Indiana hosted by Purdue University. The Cougars will be back on the court to face the Boilermakers at 3 p.m. this afternoon. Chicago State won the doubles point against IUPUI and trailed in several singles matches but rallied to earn victories in three of those matches for the 4-2 win.
"This was another great team win today
," head coach Jack Barton said. "The guys had an uphill battle to climb in singles but they kept their composure and stayed the course
. IUPUI held leads in several of the first set singles courts. Pedro (Alvarez) was down 4-1, Hugo (Hidalgo Vega) was down 5-2, and Jakub (Zamorski) was down 3-2 and they all came back to win their first sets and eventually won their matches.
Our seniors came up big today, particularly Jakub (Zamorski), who clinched the match for us. I could not be more proud of them."

About Chicago State
Chicago State University Athletics is comprised of 15 intercollegiate teams involving over 150 student-athletes that compete in basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, indoor and outdoor track and volleyball. CSU held memberships in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and NCAA Division II before transitioning to NCAA Division I in 1994. Melvin Bland was the first CSU student-athlete to gain NAIA All-American status in 1974 as a wrestler. Fred Evans became the first black swimmer ever to win a national championship in 1975. The Men's Outdoor Track & Field 4x100-Meter Relay team were 2019 Honorable Mention All-Americans and WAC Champions. Their feat marked the first time the Chicago State's men's track & field program was represented at the national meet. Chicago State volleyball recorded a historic season in 2021, with Yanlis Feliz becoming CSU's first volleyball All-American and head coach Tony Trifonov earning selection as WAC Coach of the Year.\
