After opening with an 8-4 record in non-conference play, the Chicago State volleyball team opens its final season of Western Athletic Conference competition Thursday evening in Seattle.
In Coach Tanio Trifonov's second season, the Cougars have turned heads behind a dominant attack anchored by
Yanlis Feliz, who leads the WAC with 206 kills. The Cougars' first 12 matches were headlined by a September 17 road sweep over the Big Ten's Indiana Hoosiers and a co-Windy City Classic championship in Chicago during the first week of September.
The matchup with Seattle U is the first of two road matches to start conference play, as the Cougars will face California Baptist in Riverside, California on Saturday before returning to Chciago. The 2021 WAC home debut is Thursday, September 30 at 6 p.m. at the Jones Convocation Center.
