Men’s Basketball Falls to Kansas City

Ke’Sean Davis leads the offense with 18 points; Andrew Lewis adds 11 points

KANSAS CITY – The Chicago men's basketball team fell to Kanas City 80-58 in a WAC conference game, the first of three consecutive road games, on Saturday night. The Cougars were led by a season-high 18 points from Ke'Sean Davis (Compton, Calif./Taft Charter H.S.) while Andrew Lewis (Milwaukee, Wis./Milwaukee Vincent H.S.) added 13 points. Davis also added eight boards.
 
The game opened up as a back-and-forth affair which featured three ties in the eight minutes. With the game tied at 12 at the 12:03 mark the Cougars made a run and pulled ahead by five points courtesy of a triple  from Xavier Johnson (Dallas, Texas/Hopkins H.S.) but the Roos answered with a 15-5 spurt to go form down five to up five in a five-minute span.
 
With Kansas City leading 30-28, the home team closed the half on a 11-3 run to take a 43-31 lead at the break.
 
The Roos saw their lead extend to 17 points just out of the break and it wouldn't get under 17 the remainder of the contest.
 
The Cougars struggled to put together much offense in the second half, shooting just 33 percent tin the second half while the Roos shot nearly 50 percent in the second frame.

The Cougars will stay on the road for its final two regular-season games starting with a road trip to Seattle on Thursday March 5.
