CHICAGO – After a quick lead to open the contest, Chicago State men's basketball suffered its second-straight Western Athletic Conference (WAC) game as the Cougars fell 86-54, to Seattle, at home on Saturday, Jan. 4.
After going ahead early, 12-1, the Cougars fell victim to a 25-2 run from the Redhwaks, where a three-ball from SU's Delante Jones gave them the 26-14 lead.
Heading into the break the visiting Redhawks led 41-26.
It was all SU in the second half as they led by as many as 33, before sealing the 86-54 victory.
Despite an early departure due to foul trouble,
Xavier Johnson (Dallas, Texas/Hopkins H.S.) led the Cougars with 18 points, two steals and four rebounds. Rajier Jones trailed with seven points and six boards for CSU, while
Solomon Hunt (Pomona, Calif./Upland H.S.) led on the glass with seven rebounds.
