Crane’s Career High Not Enough at WMU

Kalamazoo, Mich. – Sophomore Kourtney Crane (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) finished with a career-best 21 points for Chicago State women's basketball, as the Cougars fell 90-69 to the Western Michigan Broncos, Saturday, Dec. 14 in Kalamazoo, Mich.

  • Crane's 21 points were trailed by Bethany Carstens' (Kenai, Alaska/Nikiski) 16 and Tyeshia Bowers' (Flint, Mich./Southwestern) 14.
  • Crane also led on the boards for the Cougars with five, as Bowers and Taylor Robinson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) also pulled down five rebounds apiece.
  • While in her home state, Crane swiped a team-best six steals during the setback.
  • The Cougars scored 20 points off turnovers, 20 from the bench, and 40 in the paint.
 
WMU
  • Six Broncos finished in double-figures, led by Jordan Walker's 27 points.
  • Breanna Mobley earned a double-double during the home victory with 17 points and a game-best 10 boards.
  • Chelayne Bailey led the game with nine assists.

Before heading into the holiday break, the Cougars head to Evansville, Ind., for a 6 p.m. tip against Evansville on Dec. 18.
