KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Chicago State volleyball dropped its 13th-straight match after the Cougars suffered a 3-0 (25-23, 27-25, 25-14) setback to Kansas City on Halloween night at the Swinney Center in Kansas City, Mo.
Set one was all Roos, after a 25-13 win from the home team.
In set two, CSU took the match to extra points after a kill from Josi Borum (Sterling, IL ) knotted the score at 24 and Alexandria Cliff (Manitowoc, Wis./Roncalli) gave the Cougars the late one-point lead. Three-straight Kansas City points sealed the Roos second-set victory, before they carried the momentum in to the third set with an 11-point victory.
Borum led CSU with 13 kills on the night, while Lacee Adams (Muncie, Ind./Muncie Central) ran the offense with a team-best 16 assists.
Defensively, Megan Klavitter (Fenton, MI), Adams and Borum each contributed seven digs, while Cliff had three blocks.
The Cougars return to action on Nov. 2, as CSU continues road play with a 3 p.m., match at California Baptist in Riverside, Calif.
