Chicago State Baseball Drops 20-1 Decision at No. 19 UCF

ORLANDO – The Chicago State baseball team dropped the second game of this weekend's series at John Euliano Park to No. 19 UCF.

Entering the second inning with a 1-0 advantage, the host Knights tallied six runs to increase their lead to 7-0.

UCF then added 13 runs between the fourth and eighth innings to provide the final margin.

The Green and White scored their run in the top of the seventh after senior Cody Freund (McHenry, Ill./McHenry) reached base on a one-out walk before scoring three plays on an RBI single from freshman Reggie Brock, Jr. (Chicago, Ill./Simeon) that went down the left field line.

Brock finished the game with a 1-for-1 day at the plate for CSU. Junior starter Dean Youngblood (Melissa, Texas/Melissa) took the loss after giving up seven runs on six hits over three innings thrown with three strikeouts, while fellow junior Joe Fitka (Anchorage, Alaska/Diamond) struck out four over 1.2 innings of relief.

Both teams will close the series tomorrow afternoon starting at 12 p.m.
