Burns Paces Chicago State with Double-Double at UTRGV

EDINBURG, Texas – Chicago State men's basketball was led tonight by a double-double from senior Glen Burns (West Memphis, Ark./West Memphis Christian) as it fell to host UT Rio Grande Valley, 83-75, in a Western Athletic Conference contest at UTRGV Fieldhouse.
 
Burns tied a career-high with 21 points and grabbed a career-best 12 rebounds for the Green and White. He connected from 9-of-11 from the free throw line, dished out six assists and produced four steals.
 
Freshman Cameron Bowles (Chicago, Ill./Kenwood) tallied a season-high 20 points and shot 9-of-13 from the field to go along with three blocked shots, and junior Fred Sims, Jr. (Chicago, Ill./North Lawndale) added 19 points. Redshirt junior Jelani Pruitt (Gary, Ind./Merrillville (Ind.)) finished with 10 points and nine rebounds for the Cougars.
 
UTRGV was led by Nick Dixon as he recorded a game-leading 23 points.
 
CSU returns to the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center for Senior Day on March 3 against UMKC live on the WAC Digital Network with the opening tip set for 4:35 p.m.
