Cliff Leads Three CSU Players in Double Figures at Bradley

PEORIA, Ill. – Junior Alexandria Cliff (Manitowoc, Wis./Roncalli) tallied a season-high 13 points to lead three players in double figures for the Chicago State women's basketball team here tonight as it closed out a four-game road swing with an 89-59 defeat to host Bradley at BU's Renaissance Coliseum.
 
Cliff connected on six of her 13 field-goal attempts while also finishing with five rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot in 29 minutes on the floor.
 
Bradley opened the game with a 31-14 lead after the first quarter and later increased its lead to 49-25 thanks to an 18-11 mark in the second quarter. The Green and White would get no closer the rest of the contest but held a slim 18-16 advantage in the final period.
 
Junior Ines Mata Boix (Madrid, Spain/) tallied 11 points and tied for game high honors by grabbing 10 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Freshman Jazz Tapia (Berwyn, Ill./Morton) recorded season highs of 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals in 23 minutes off the bench for CSU.
 
The Braves also had three players score in double figures in the contest with Lasha Petree posting game highs of 19 points and six steals.
 
Chicago State ends non-conference play on Sunday afternoon in the friendly confines of the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center against Brown from the Ivy League with the opening tip set for 2 p.m.
