OPENING TIP – Chicago State men's basketball continues its five-game road trip on Monday night when it heads to Evanston, Ill., for a non-conference showdown against Northwestern at Welsh-Ryan Arena in a live broadcast on ESPNU which starts at 8 p.m.

SCOUTING CSU – The Green and White bring a 3-9 record into Monday's game after their three-game winning streak was snapped last Wednesday at DePaul by a score of 104-70 in the opener of this current road swing with senior guard Delshon Strickland (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnetonka ) recording a season-best 25 points and sophomore guard Travon Bell (Chicago, Ill./Mather) added 14 points. CSU is led by senior guard Anthony Harris (Gary, Ind./Griffith (Ind.)) as he is posting team highs of 15 points per game and six blocked shots while shooting 83 percent from the free throw line and 48 percent from the field. Fellow senior guard Rob Shaw (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) leads the Western Athletic Conference with an average of 6.1 assists per game and is second on the team in scoring at 11.3 points a game. The team's top rebounder is junior forward Christian Jacob (Gary, Ind./Westside) as he is grabbing an average of six rebounds a game in addition to scoring 10.3 points per game.

SCOUTING NU – Playing its first game in 13 days, Northwestern holds a 6-3 season record going into next week's slate which includes an 0-2 mark against Big Ten Conference foes after dropping a pair two-point decisions to Indiana (66-68) and nationally-ranked Michigan (60-62). Vic Law is producing a team-best 17.8 points per game and 10 blocked shots to lead three Wildcat players in double figure scoring. Derrick Pardon is second on the team with 14.5 points a game as well as leading the team in rebounds at an average of 9.2 per contest.

SERIES HISTORY – Northwestern holds a 12-0 lifetime advantage against Chicago State which includes a 10-game win streak at Welsh-Ryan Arena. The Wildcats recorded a 96-31 victory over the Cougars on Dec. 11, 2017 at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill.
 
COUGARS GET WAC SPOTLIGHT GAME AT UVU – Chicago State will play in the WAC Spotlight Game of the Week on Feb. 21 against Utah Valley in Orem, Utah as part of a six-game package that will feature the league on ESPN+.
 
REED MAKES CSU DEBUT – Redshirt sophomore guard Jordan Reed (Bolingbrook, Ill./Plainfield East) looks to make his début in a Chicago State uniform in Monday night's game at Northwestern. Reed, a six-foot guard from Bolingbrook, Ill., sat out a year to fulfill NCAA transfer residency requirements after transferring from NCAA Division II Lewis in Dec. 2017.

FACING THE LAND OF LINCOLN – Monday's game at DePaul continues CSU's yearly tradition of taking on multiple opponents from the state of Illinois. The Cougars are 3-3 against in-state foes this season. Following the game, the Cougars still have two more road games against Illinois teams this week against Western Illinois and Northern Illinois.

UP NEXT – The Cougars travel to downstate Macomb, Ill., to battle host Western Illinois Thursday afternoon in the final game of the inaugural Summit League/WAC Challenge with the opening tip set for 2 p.m.
