Volleyball Opens Three-Match WAC Road Swing with 3-0 Loss at NM State

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Chicago State volleyball team opened its three-match Western Athletic Conference road swing here Thursday night at New Mexico State's Pan American Center with a 3-0 (14-25, 15-25, 12-25) loss to the host Aggies.

Freshman Lacee Adams (Muncie, Ind./Muncie Central) dished out 23 assists for the Cougars (10-9, 1-2) followed by 12 digs from sophomore Megan Klavitter (Fenton, Mich./Linden). Juniors Carmen Carvajal (Lugo, Spain/I.E.S Lucus Augusti) and Lauryn Dela Cruz (Provo, Utah/Timpview) each added eight kills with Dela Cruz added 11 digs on the day.

Tatyana Battle produced match highs of 13 kills and two service aces to lead New Mexico State (9-6, 1-1).

CSU continues its road swing on Saturday afternoon at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg, Texas with a start time of 12 p.m.
