Cougars End Homestand with Three-Set Loss to Drake

CHICAGO – Chicago State volleyball concluded its seven-match homestand here tonight at the Jacoby Dickens Center as it fell to visiting Drake in three sets via scores of 25-15, 25-15 and 27-25.

The Cougars (10-8) were paced by junior Carmen Carvajal (Lugo, Spain/I.E.S Lucus Augusti) as she recorded 14 kills while adding eight digs, three block assists and a service ace. Freshman Lacee Adams (Muncie, Ind./Muncie Central) dished out a match-best 31 assists and senior Paige Eyring (Mesa, Ariz./Mesa) contributed 11 kills.

Sophomore Megan Klavitter (Fenton, Mich./Linden) produced a match-high 18 digs and set a season-high total for assists with five followed by freshman Summer Farris (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington) adding eight kills and three blocks (two solo, one assisted).

Kyla Inderski tallied a double-double of a match-best 15 kills with 11 digs to lead Drake (13-3).

CSU travels southwest for a weekend Western Athletic Conference road trip which begins on Thursday night at New Mexico State in a WAC Digital Network live broadcast beginning at 8 p.m.
