Box Score 2 CHICAGO – Chicago State volleyball concluded the second day of its invitational today at the Jacoby Dickens Center with a split as it fell to Wright State by a 3-0 (21-25, 22-25, 23-25) margin before ending the weekend with a 3-2 (27-25, 20-25, 25-23, 23-25, 15-13) victory over Southeast Missouri State.

Lauryn Dela Cruz (Provo, Utah/Timpview) paced the Cougars in the Wright State match with 21 kills, while fellow classmate
Carmen Carvajal (Lugo, Spain/I.E.S Lucus Augusti) {15 digs, 11 kills} and freshman
Lacee Adams (Muncie, Ind./Muncie Central) {27 assists, 13 digs } each recorded double-doubles.

Sophomore
Megan Klavitter (Fenton, Mich./Linden) posted 25 digs for the Green and White.

Maddie Lohmeier and Katie Klusman led Wright State (6-7) with 33 assists and 14 kills, respectively.

The back and fourth Southeast Missouri match saw Dela Cruz set a new season high with 31 kills and added 22 digs for another double-double. Carvajal finished with 19 kills, while senior
Paige Eyring (Mesa, Ariz./Mesa) added 14 kills and Adams dished out a match-best 56 assists.

The Redhawks (5-9) were paced by Krista Gearring's double-double 25 kills and 15 digs.

Dela Cruz was named to the all-tournament team along with Gearring, Louisiana's Stacey Reilly, Frankie Stribling of Eastern Michigan and Megan Hopkins from Wright State. The tournament MVP was Lohmeier after helping WSU capture the tournament title with a 3-0 record.
