Women’s Track and Field Competes at Chicagoland Indoor Meet

Asia Johnson claimed third-place honors in the 60-meter hurdles at the Chicagoland Indoor Championships
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Chicago State women's track and field team competed in the annual Chicagoland Indoor Championships here today at the Al B. Carius Track on the campus of North Central College.
 
The Green and White finished 11th by scoring 19 points in the 17-team meet which included fellow Division I schools DePaul, UIC, Valparaiso and Loyola. DePaul scored 152 points to claim the team title.
 
Fresh off winning WAC Runner of the Week honors on Tuesday, junior Jocindra Glee (Orlando, Fla./Evans) posted a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash as she recorded a time of 57.74.
 
Junior Asia Johnson (Guthrie, Okla./Guthrie) captured third place in the 60-meter hurdles by crossing the finish line with a time of 8.98, and senior Zhate Jackson (Plano, Ill./Plano) recorded a time of 25.91 to place sixth in the 200-meter dash.
 
After a week off, CSU heads to Nampa, Idaho for the Western Athletic Conference Indoor Championships on Feb. 23-25.
