Chicago State Closes Five-Game Road Swing Tonight at Kansas State

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Chicago State women's basketball closed out its five-game road swing here tonight after falling to host Kansas State by a score of 99-51 at Bramlage Coliseum.
 
The Cougars were led by freshman Tyeshia Bowers (Flint, Mich./Southwestern) with 15 points and went 4-of-5 from the free throw line. Redshirt senior Phylicia Johnson (Columbus, Ohio/Pickerington Central) added 11 points and drained all five of her free throw attempts, while freshman Tamara Olverson (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) posted a season high with eight points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field.
 
Redshirt sophomore Ines Mata Boix (Madrid, Spain) paced CSU in rebounds with nine on the night, including five on the offensive end.
 
Three players scored in double figures for K-State with Rachel Ranke leading all scorers with 24 points.
 
CSU makes its return to the Jacoby Dickens Center on Thursday night to play its first regular season game there in six years as it takes on Milwaukee live on the WAC Digital Network with the opening tip set for 7 p.m.
