Cougars Get Two 20-Point Scoring Efforts Tonight against Milwaukee

CHICAGO – The Chicago State women's basketball team received a pair of 20-point scoring efforts from freshman Tyeshia Bowers (Flint, Mich./Southwestern) and redshirt senior Phylicia Johnson (Columbus, Ohio/Pickerington Central) in tonight's 84-59 defeat to visiting Milwaukee at the Jacoby Dickens Center.

Bowers tallied a game-high 21 points which included hitting 2-of-4 from three-point range and went 7-of-8 from the free throw line for the Green and White. Johnson finished the contest with a career-high 20 points while connecting on 4-of-7 from downtown and drained all four of her free throw attempts.

The Panthers were paced by Bailey Farley and Steph Kostowicz with 17 points apiece, while Kostowicz recorded a game-high nine rebounds.

The Cougars head to Pittsburgh next weekend for a New Year's Eve matchup live on ACC Network Extra in their non-conference finale with the opening tip set for 12 p.m.
