This Week: Chicago State volleyball closes its 2017 season this week with a pair of Western Athletic Conference matches in the Northwest region. CSU heads to the state of Washington for a Thursday night contest at Seattle with a start time of 9 p.m. before traveling to Utah two days later to battle Utah Valley on Saturday beginning at 3 p.m.

Scouting CSU: Chicago State heads into this week's action with a season record of 10-19 after dropping a pair of home matches in three sets last week to close out its home schedule against Valparaiso and UMKC. The Green and White are paced by junior outside hitter Lauryn Dela Cruz as she is averaging 4/12 kills per set, while freshman setter Lacee Adams is dishing out 10.17 assists per set with both marks ranking first in the WAC. Junior outside hitter Carmen Carvajal leads CSU in service aces with conference-leading 37 service aces in addition to ranking second on the team with 3.38 kills a set. Sophomore libero Megan Klavitter leads the team in digs with an average of 4.59 per set.

Scouting SU: Seattle is currently sporting a 9-16 overall record with a 5-7 mark in WAC play heading into the last week of the regular season. The Redhawks dropped a pair of conference matches last week on the road to UT Rio Grande Valley (2-3) and league-leading New Mexico State (0-3). Sophomore outside hitter Katarina Marinkovic leads SU with 3.57 kills per set and 21 service aces, while junior middle blocker Maja Stojanovic has produced 1.08 blocks a set and a .307 hitting clip to rank first on the team in both categories. Junior setter Shae Harris is dishing out a team-best averages of 9.35 assists per set.

Scouting UVU: Utah Valley has tallied a 12-15 season record and sits at 7-5 in the conference standings for its last homestand of the year. The Wolverines lost on the road at New Mexico State and UTRGV in three sets last weekend. Senior outside hitter Lexi Thompson is averaging a team-best 336 kills and 202 digs per set for UVU, while senior middle blocker Madison Dennison has recorded team highs of 1.65 blocks per set and a .309 hitting percentage to go along with 2.71 kills a set. Senior setter Sierra Starley leads the team in assists with an average of 9.76 per set.

Senior Day: The Cougars honored seniors student-athletes Shontanae Addison, Paige Eyring, Brianna Stewart and Juliana Torres in a pre-match senior day ceremony last Friday before their home finale against UMKC.

Adams Gains Another School Record: After recently setting CSU single-season records for assists and assists per set, Adams has gained another school record as she holds the school's Division I career mark for assists per set, surpassing Catherine Everist's (2004-05) average of 7.13 per set.
