Box Score OREM, Utah – Chicago State volleyball received double-double efforts from juniors Lauryn Dela Cruz and Carmen Carvajal as the Green and White fell to host Utah Valley by a 3-1 margin today at Lockhart Arena in the season finale for both teams.

CSU struck first with a tightly contested 27-25 victory in the opening set before the Wolverines took the second set by a score of 25-19 to even the match going into intermission. UVU would claim the match by winning the final two sets via scores of 25-22 and 25-19.

Dela Cruz recorded a match-high 19 kills and added 13 digs, while Carvajal produced 17 kills and 10 digs in the match for the Cougars.

Freshman Lacee Adams dished out a match-leading 52 assists, while sophomore Megan Klavitter added 14 digs. Both players finished the season as CSU's single-season record holders in assists and digs, respectively.

Lexi Thompson posted 17 kills, Sierra Starley tallied 50 assists and Seren Merill recorded a match-high 17 digs to lead Utah Valley.

The Cougars closed the regular season with a 10-21 record, but will return most of their players for the 2018 season.
