This Week: Chicago State volleyball makes its return to the Jacoby Dickens Center this week to kick off a four-match homestand. The Green and White will battle the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in its annual Dig Pink match on Thursday night at 7 p.m. then will host New Mexico State this Saturday at 12 p.m.

Scouting CSU: CSU heads into this week's action with a record of 10-15 on the year and holds a 1-8 record in WAC play after falling on the road to Grand Canyon (0-3) and CSU Bakersfield (0-3) last weekend. Junior outside hitter Lauryn Dela Cruz (Provo, Utah/Timpview) leads the conference in kills (4.31 kps) and points (4.59 pps), while freshman setter Lacee Adams (Muncie, Ind./Muncie Central) is dishing out a WAC-leading average of 10.16 assists per set. Junior outside hitter Carmen Carvajal (Lugo, Spain/I.E.S Lucus Augusti) has tallied a team-best 34 service aces in addition to ranking second on the team in kills at 3.38 per set, and sophomore libero Megan Klavitter (Fenton, Mich./Linden) is averaging a team-leading 4.58 digs a set.

Scouting UTRGV: UTRGV enters Thursday's contest with the Cougars sporting a season record of 12-9 which includes a 6-2 mark against WAC opponents. The Vaqueros saw their two-match winning streak snapped last Saturday following a 3-1 defeat at New Mexico State. Junior outside hitter Ragni Steen Knudsen leads the team with 3.53 kills per set and 23 service aces followed by senior right side hitter Bojana Mitrovic being second in kills at 3.10 a set.

Scouting NMSU: New Mexico State, tied with UTRGV for second place in the WAC at 6-2, now 15-7 overall and has won seven of its last eight matches since Sept. 28 following last Saturday's 3-1 home victory over UTRGV at the Pan American Center. Senior outside hitter Kassandra Tohm leads the Aggies in kills at 3.43 per set while freshman middle blocker Lia Mosher has produced a team-best 79 blocks (12 solo, 67 assisted – 1.07 bps) on the year.

Adams Sets CSU Single-Season Record: Adams set CSU's single-season records for assists this season with 945 total assists and 10.16 assists per set which eclipsed the record of 940 helpers and 9.04 assists a set that were set by Catherine Everist in 2005.

Up Next: The Cougars host local rival Valparaiso on Wednesday, Nov. 1 in their final non-conference match of the season beginning at 6 p.m. before closing their home schedule against UMKC for Senior Day on Friday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m.
