Women’s Soccer Falls to New Mexico State in WAC Home Battle

CHICAGO – Chicago State women's soccer began the final stretch of its regular season slate here today at Ray and Joan Kroc Stadium as it battled New Mexico State in a Western Athletic Conference battle before falling to the visiting Aggies by a score of 8-0.
 
The game's opening 29 minutes served as a scoreless affair between both squads until NM State scored goals in the 29th and 32nd minutes to gain a 2-0 advantage that it would hold on through halftime. The visitors added scored in the 71st, 76th, 80th, 83rd and 87th minutes during the second half to provide the final margin.
 
Sophomore Taylor Rankin (Dearborn, Mich./Edsel Ford) and freshman Jensyn Stanberry (Grand Haven, Mich./Fruitport) paced the Green and White with four shot attempts apiece with each player tallying two shots on goal. Senior goalkeeper Gabby Klemp (Muskegon, Mich./Reeths-Puffer) finished the contest with a game-leading eight saves.
 
CSU travels to Texas for its final road game of the season on Sunday morning as it will face off against host University of Texas Rio Grande Valley on the WAC Digital Network with a start time of 11 a.m.
