BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Chicago State women's soccer team finished out its Western Athletic Conference weekend road swing out west here following today's 6-1 loss to host CSU Bakersfield at Main Soccer Field.

The first half began a scoreless affair between both teams until the 21st minute when freshman Jensyn Stanberry (Grand Haven, Mich./Fruitport) took a pass from sophomore Mariela Alba (Hanover Park, Ill./Bartlett) on the left corner of the 18-yard box then scored her fourth goal of the season to give CSU a 1-0 lead that it would hold on to heading into intermission.

CSUB responded with a goal in the 50th minute to even the score at 1-1 before adding goals in the 68th, 71st, 72nd, 82nd and 84th minutes to end the scoring.

Stanberry and senior Sara Marcotte (Republic, Mo./Republic) each recorded two shot attempts and a shot on goal for the Cougars. Junior Audra Wisehart (Sandusky, Ohio/Huron) tallied a game-high 16 saves on the day.

The Green and White return to Ray and Joan Kroc Stadium on Friday, Oct. 20 for a WAC contest against New Mexico State with a start time of 1 p.m.
