Adams, Carvajal Record Double-Doubles in CSU’s 3-1 Home Loss to Seattle

CHICAGO – Chicago State volleyball received double-double efforts from freshman Lacee Adams (Muncie, Ind./Muncie Central) and junior Carmen Carvajal (Lugo, Spain/I.E.S Lucus Augusti) as it lost a 3-1 Western Athletic Conference decision to Seattle this afternoon at the Jacoby Dickens Center.

The visiting Redhawks posted wins in the first two sets via scores of 25-23 to take a 2-0 lead at intermission then the Green and White took the third set by a 25-18 margin. SU finished the match with a 25-18 win in the fourth and final set.

Adams dished out a match-leading 47 assists to go along with a team-high 14 digs, while Carvajal posted a match-best 17 kills and 10 digs for the Cougars (10-13, 1-6). Sophomore Alexandria Cliff (Manitowoc, Wis./Roncalli) tallied 11 kills, and freshman Summer Farris (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington) produced nine kills and five blocks (one solo, four assisted).

Rachel Stark (14 kills) and Tijana Milojevic (33 digs) were the top players on the day for Seattle (7-13, 3-4).

Chicago State heads west for a WAC weekend road swing next week which begins on Thursday, Oct. 19 in Phoenix against host Grand Canyon at GCU Arena with the first serve set for 9 p.m.
