Klemp Posts Seven Saves for CSU Women’s Soccer at Grand Canyon

PHOENIX – Senior Gabby Klemp (Muskegon, Mich./Reeths-Puffer) tallied a game-high seven saves as the Chicago State women's soccer team kicked off a weekend Western Athletic Conference road swing here tonight at GCU Stadium with a 7-0 defeat to host Grand Canyon.
 
GCU garnered first half goals in the seventh, 22nd, 27th and 28th minutes for a 4-0 halftime lead before adding scores in the 63rd, 67th and 88th minutes in the second stanza for the final margin.
 
Sophomore Taylor Rankin (Dearborn, Mich./Edsel Ford) led CSU with three shot attempts, while junior Sierra Nixon (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester) and freshman Jensyn Stanberry (Grand Haven, Mich./Fruitport) each recorded two shot attempts.
 
Chicago State concludes its WAC weekend road swing this Sunday at CSU Bakersfield with a start time of 3 p.m.
