Cougars Fall at Loyola to Close Out Five-Game Road Swing

CHICAGO – Chicago State women's soccer closed out its five-game road swing here tonight with a 7-0 loss to host Loyola at Loyola Soccer Park on the city's north side.
 
The Ramblers captured a 2-0 lead after recording goals in the eighth and 31st minutes of the first half.
 
Five additional goals were scored by the home team in the second half between the 48th and 89th minutes for the final margin.
 
Junior goalkeeper Gabby Klemp (Muskegon, Mich./Reeths-Puffer) recorded a match-best six saves to lead the Cougars (1-8), while freshman Taylor Rankin (Dearborn, Mich./Ford) posted two shots on goal.
 
Ciara Murray paced Loyola (2-7-2) with three goals on the night.

CSU returns to the Ray and Joan Kroc Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 1 with its final non-conference game of the season when it hosts Illinois State with the opening kickoff set for 3 p.m.
