Cougars Conclude Omni Invitational with 3-0 Loss to Colorado State

BOULDER, Colo. – Chicago State volleyball concluded its final early season tournament here this afternoon with a 3-0 (18-25, 14-25, 15-25) defeat to Colorado State to close out the Colorado Omni Invitational at the Coors Events Center.

Junior Kelsey Taylor (Miami, Fla./Westminster Christian School) paced the Cougars (2-11) with eight digs, while junior Corey Davis (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Thousand Oaks) and freshman Megan Klavitter (Fenton, Mich./Linden) each dished out eight assists. Senior Dzeni Hadzisehovic (Belgrade, Serbia/First Private School for Catering and Tourism) contributed six kills, junior Juma Armando (Toronto, Canada/Archbishop Romero) added five kills and junior Shedella Smith (Victorville, Calif./Hesperia) finished with three blocks.

Katie Oleksak paced the Rams (6-4) with 41 assists, eight blocks and eight digs, while Sanja Cizmic produced a match-leading 11 kills.

CSU makes its long-awaited home debut this Tuesday night against UIC at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center beginning at 7 p.m.
