BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Chicago State closed out its three-game Western Athletic Conference road swing here Saturday night after falling to host CSU Bakersfield by 71-48 decision at the Icardo Center.
 
Down by 11 (34-23) at halftime, the Green and White later used an 8-2 run that sliced its deficit to 52-42 with under 10 minutes left in the second half. CSUB then went on a 19-4 run in the final eight minutes for the win.
 
Junior Trayvon Palmer (Milwaukee, Wis./Brown Deer) scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Cougars (4-22, 0-9), while fellow junior Quron Davis (Chicago, Ill./Simeon) added nine points and six rebounds
 
Aly Ahmed recorded game highs of 20 points and nine rebounds to lead four players in double figures for the Roadrunners (17-7, 7-2).
 
CSU welcomes defending WAC champion New Mexico State to the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center on Feb. 13 in a live broadcast on WVON 1690 AM with the opening tip set for 1 p.m.
